报告题目：Who is afraid of a quantum computer?

报告内容简介：

Suddenly, I am awakened in the new era of REAL quantum computers. I am totally surprised that some of my early results in pure mathematics have become pioneering work of Quantum Information.

Actually,this is a report of my own adventure in the quantumland.From the point of view of a pure mathematician, I will explain how non-commutative analysis can be used intensively in the recent development of quantum information joining quantum mechanics and computer science.

报告人简介：

蔡文端（Man-Duen Choi）： 祖籍福建福州，生于江苏南京，长于香港。多伦多大学数学系教授，加拿大皇家科学院院士，Israel Halperin Prize 获得者(1980)，加拿大数学学会 Coxeter-James Prized Lecturer(1983)，2006 年度国际线性代数学会讲习教授(ILAS Lecturer)。蔡文端研究方向涉及算子代数、算子理论、矩阵分析、量子信息与量子计算及平方和问题等。

蔡教授于 1975 年发表了完全正映射定理，后也称 Choi’s theorem，此定理在量子信息理论中有重要应用，成为量子信息论之基石，与Kraus 算子等有密切联系。据 Google Scholar 统计，截止 2023 年 10月，此定理的引用次数已超过 2870。蔡教授在 Hilbert 第 17 问题上也有精彩发现。
