Professor Li Zhongshan from Georgia State University Came to Our College to Give an Academic Report

At the invitation of our college, Professor Li Zhongshan from the Department of Mathematics in Georgia State University made an academic report entitled "Minimum Range and Cycle Conditions for Sign Patterns That AllowDiagonalizability" in the lecture hall of the Research Institute of Mathematics of Yingxi campus on the morning of July 19. Some teachers and postgraduates from our college attended the meeting.

In the report, Professor Li Zhongshan introduced the latest research results related to sign matrix. In addition, Professor Li Zhongshan discussed the academic issues involved in the report together with the teachers and the postgraduates.

About Li Zhongshan:

Li Zhongshan is a lifelong professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Mathematics of Georgia State University. His research interests involve combinatorial matrix theory, algebraic graph theory, application of matrix theory, etc. More than 100 papers have been published in such important international academic journals asAmerican Mathematical Monthly,Linear Algebra and ItsApplications,SIAM J. on Discrete Mathematics,J.Combin. Theory Ser. B,Linear and Multilinear Algebra,Graphs and Combinatorics,IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems. In the past five years, he has published 21 academic papers, and a chapter in the academic monograph Handbook of linear algebra. Moreover, he has undertaken or participated in many scientific research projects. Since 1991, he has been a teacher in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Georgia State University. In 1998, he became an associate professor and lifelong professor of Georgia State University. In 2007, he was promoted to a professor. From 2010 to 2015, he served as Director of the Graduate Faculty in the Department of Mathematics. In 2010, he became a member of Title and Tenure Professor Evaluation Committee in the College of Science and Art of Georgia State University, and he has been Chairman of the Committee since 2017. What’s more, he served as a special commentator in Mathematical Reviews, a member of Editorial Board in JP Journal of algebra and Number Theory and Applications.
